Perhaps "put a sock on it"? On second thought that's not much better either.
Not to anyone who's seen American Pie.
well, it seems like i am going to ruin the domination of raypublishers' topic at this section of the board.
:d. now back to the topic.
the last month i was trying to get "closer" to my classmates and to the others from my highschool.
Perhaps "put a sock on it"? On second thought that's not much better either.
Not to anyone who's seen American Pie.
this past wt study on the things that marks the end of the world---made me think in terms of armageddon and what the faithful slave would do if they couldnt communicate with thousands of congregations since the wicked/satans world runs the the modes/network of communications.
i may not have all the facts as to the infastructure of the worlds communications but one things for sure---with the wicked destroyed at armageddon how does the society oh organization plan to communicate with the rank and file???
wicked gone means that possibly the internet will not be working, post office will be down, mobile carriers/towers will be out of commission maybe, tv stations will be out of commission.
Two words: carrier pigeons
you know, to fit in....to be a part of our own family or group and not be a total nerd or contrarian.. we hold our tongue.
we smile and nod.. but, then....there is at least one thing we just can't go along with because it is too important.. why?
because we are a total snob.
Movies, and entertainment in general. It's one thing to have bad taste in movies. It's quite another to recommend that I waste my time and/or money watching them. I work with a guy who keeps telling me I need to see the movie Zookeeper, with Kevin James. This person is also a big Steven Segal fan. How do I respect such a person?
until recently, i had never encountered this word "believers" used as it is being used on this board, to describe pejoratively a group of people.
it's not clear to me whether they scorn all who have a faith of some sort.
do they include buddhists, hindus, followers of the baha'i faith, followers of the cargo cult, native americans along with christians, or is it just christians who are honoured with this epithet?.
What is the fallacy? Making it sound ridiculous to believe in invisible, undetectable, unpredictable creatures isn't a fallacy. They are the exact same thing.
Precisely. Just because there isn't an ancient book written about something, doesn't make believing in it any less ridiculous. The exact same amount of people have seen god, that have seen a fairy or a unicorn.
on my other post 'thinking of becoming a jw' people mentioned that once i was baptised i would be told / given rules of what i can / cant do, things like: how i act, dress, how i can have sex with my husband??
what i can and cant eat ( according to some research ive done).
i would be really interested to hear as many of these rules now - as i think its too late after one is baptised.. i would be grateful of as many as possible about anything any topic even thouse i havent mentioned.. thanks x.
It isn't just universal JW rules you will have to worry about. You'll find that individual elders may have their own personal rules that they expect the flock to follow. They love to use the phrase 'stumbling others' to justify trying to enforce rules that don't really have any scriptural backing. They will often not tell you outright not to do something, but instead will guilt you into deciding on your own to not do it, simply because they personally don't agree with it.
while i took my shower.. i went through my leon redbone routine, starting with "shine on harvest moon".. i must say i do a dead on redbone imitation.. .
anyone else have talents they enjoy for their own entertainment?
I've been known to imitate Milton from Office Space, at work. It's only funny to those who have seen the movie. Everyone else thinks it's weird.
"Excuse me, I believe you have my stapler"
"Ok, I'll set the building on fire"
"I was told if I was late again, I would be summarily dismissed"
hi,.
i am new to here so please be bear with me.. i have always believed in god, but was never baptised, my parents wanted me to make up my own mind religon wise.. i am thinking of becoming a jw and am just needing some advice on how to do this, bible study and jw beliefs.
also do jw say grace and how.. i am greatful of any help.. thanks.
Please dont accuse me of things im not, its hard enough dealing with depression without being "bullied" by strangers :(
Try not to take it personally. You have to understand the dynamic of this forum. It's filled with people who were lied to for many years by people they trusted. Now their BS detectors are working overtime. And some get a little overzealous in calling out every newbie as a troll, even those sincerely looking for answers.
2pe 1:3 "his divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the full knowledge of the one who called us by his own glory and excellence".. it is my concern having read some post here that too much faith is put in the groverning body of the jehovahs witnesses.
the bible says that a believer has everything needed for life and godliness, through the direct revelation of god.
people don't need too have people to govern their lives, as god is the one who governs.. mans opinions are not always correct, only god is a refuge.
It is my concern having read some post here that too much faith is put in the Groverning Body of the Jehovahs Witnesses.
It's my concern, having read your posts, that you are here looking for vulnerable lost souls to exploit.
i am a born again christian, not a jehovah's witness.
i have had many experiences with god, hearing god's voice, seeing minor miracles, have seen a woman healed instantly through prayer in jesus name.
what is your view on the miraculous.
I thought Smokey Robinson did his best work with the Miracles.

i am not a scientist so i was wondering what people thought of this?.
here is the general conclusion of the video:.
Being the supposed size of this creature it would mostly have been discovered by now
Exactly. But chupacabras, on the other hand- they're real.
